Found in mountainous parts of the northern hemisphere, this upright perennial has finely divided, dark-green leaves, up the stems. Red Baneberry, Snakeberry

An uncommon woodland plant with finely cut leaves topped by spikes of WHITE, feathery flowers. These are followed by brilliant red berries in autumn. Grows in dry shade where little else will grow. 45x45cms. Flowers: April-May.

Slender, arching stems to about 60cm in length. Leaves narrowly ovate to linear, 7-15cm long, with incurved teeth. Bell shaped, long violet-blue flowers along the stems during midsummer. Light, free draining soil in sun or part shade. (5-7) 60cm.

Spikes of pendent, bell shaped small lilac-blue flowers on unbranched stems; midsummer. Elliptic, coarsely toothed leaves. Rich, moist well drained soil in sun or part shade. 30x30cm.

Many forms of Adenophora in cultivation are wrong, so we will wait & see on these seed raised plants. A small, mat forming perennial with clumps of heart-shaped, toothed leaves. Choice harbinger of spring, with the large bowl-shaped many petalled golden-yellow flowers appearing the mounds of very finely cut fern-like leaves, usually in January & February. Quickly goes dormant in early summer. Humus rich, leafy, retentive soil. (2-3) 15cm.

(Town Hall Clock) rare native forming spreading mats of very finely cut, fresh green leaves. Rather small yellowish-green flowers spin & track the sun as it moves around the sky, hance the strange common name & also the square flower head. Cool, moist woodland soil in part shade. 10cm.

Possibly the most free flowering hybrid released to date, this short form is hardy & very prolific & very early. Domed umbels of striking rich-blue flowers commencing the end of June. Agapanthus 'Charlotte'

Agapanthus 'Chika's Blue'

Agapanthus 'Maureen'

Agapanthus 'Megan's Mauve'

Agapanthus 'Midnight Star'

(syn.Navy Blue') One of the hardiest, brightest blues with rounded heads of rich blue flowers from inky violet buds during August, usually a little later than most. The stems are stained black at the base. Well drained soil in a sun. (8-9) 85cm.

Agapanthus 'Misty Dawn'

Agapanthus 'Mooreanus'

Introduced from Orange Free State in 1954, this is probably a short form of campanulatus ssp. patens. Small tough form with narrow deciduous leaves. Agapanthus 'New Blue'

Old hybrid with large, rather open umbels of mid-blue flowers with a darker central vein, held at curious angles, during midsummer. Narrow, strap like, deciduous leaves. Seems to have gone missing so a welcome re-introduction. Retentive, well drained soil in sun. (7-9) 60cm.

Huge, evergreen praecox hybrid with umbels of very large, reflexing white flowers becoming more suffused blue at the tips. Flowers late summer. slow to multiply with very broad, glossy green leaves. will need cold greenhouse protection in winter, but worth it. 150cm.

Agapanthus 'Poppin' Purple'

Upright fleshy stems topped with large umbels of amazing , tubular, intense,rich blue--purple flowers; July on. A colour we have yet to see in any other Agapanthus. Breeding true to type, this stately perennial has spikes of single, silky, cup-shaped bright-pink flowers with contrasting boss of yellow stamens, freely borne throughout summer. Basal clumps of large, coarse leaves. Poor, free draining soil in sun. (6-8) 180cm.

Alcea rosea 'Sunshine' (Spotlight Series)

New series, much overdue of single hollyhocks. Bold spikes of silky, cup-shaped clear yellow flowers over a long period through summer. Basal rosettes of coarse, rounded basal leaves, smaller up the stems. Dry, poor soil in sun. (7-9) 160cm.
